Taco Pie
An easy recipe that's pretty showy. It's a nice change up for taco night!
Ingredients:
1 pie store pie crust (unless you are feeling adventurous to make your own)
1 lb ground beef
1 packet taco seasoning (I prefer Trader Joe's because it has a kick to it)
1 onion
Olive Oil
1 cup of salsa
2-3 chopped tomatoes
1 cup of chopped lettuce
Sour Cream
1 cup of shredded cheese (Mexican blend or Jalepno blend)
Preparation:
1. Grease a 9 inch pie plate, and roll out your crust. Bake to directions (usually at 350 degrees for about 20 minutes).
2. Sautee the onions with a little olive oil in a pan. Add the ground beef. When beef is cooked through, drain it. Add the taco seasoning, and one cup of salsa.
3. Pull out pie crust, and add cooked taco meat and onions to the bottom. Sprinkle a cup of shredded cheese. Bake for another 20-25 minutes.
4. When pie is cooked through, pull out and add a layer of sour cream, chopped lettuce, and tomatoes.
Enjoy :)
